Prerequisite: Online Ba Gua Camp
This course will be a review and expansion upon the art of Chun Yang Eight Step Dragon Heart form through applying time and effort into building skill and proficiency. Ba Gua patterns are used to stabilize, protect, adjust or restore balance in one's life by analysing or structuring any given space, external or internal. We will focus on stepping method, striking sequences, and pattern walking as well as empowering the ceremonial process of unifying with the 10 directions. The time we will put into circle walking is highly therapeutic for the longevity of our lower limbs, ankles, knees, hips and lower back, as well as our overall health and wellbeing. Through all ancient movement arts we can gain circulation, balance, relaxation, embodiment, and connection to the fabric of our existence. This practice furthers our knowledge and understanding of Daoist Universal Principles and offers depth at any stage of life.
This course is open to anyone who has studied Chun Yang Ba Bu at WWH or Five Immortals Temple previously. You can also prepare for and qualify for this course by taking the archived class. Please have your training space prepared with the symbols marked on the ground.
This course includes 5 class recordings of 1.5 hours in length, for a total of 7.5 hours of instruction. We cover the patterns and striking sequences of sections 2-4.
